Redeemer Church Edinburgh is joining churches across the UK for life’26. We’re asking the big question:
ever feel like something's missing?
This Easter, we’re running a series of talks about Christianity with a chance for you to put any questions you may have about Christianity to the speaker and to our panel. We’ll provide soft drinks and snacks. No booking is required – just turn up at the church building at 64 Bridge Road, Colinton EH13 0LQ. In addition, you will find a warm welcome at our church services on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Where is God in a suffering world?
With Q&A
Sunday 22nd March, 6:30pm
How can Christianity claim for there to be a powerful God of love and peace when the world is so clearly broken and deeply unjust? Where is this God? And, if he exists at all, why does he not do anything about suffering? If you have ever asked these questions then this is the chance to ask them!
This is no normal church service, it is an opportunity to listen to a short talk on the subject and ask any questions you may have about the topic or about the Christian faith in general. You can text your question to a number we’ll provide on the night or ask live from the floor. Our panel will respond to the questions and there will be an opportunity for further discussion if you want. Good aperitifs and soft drinks will be provided. Take this chance to ask about the things that have always bothered you about Christianity, and bring your friends with you!
Where is truth in a post truth world?
With Q&A
Sunday 29th March, 6:30pm
In a world that is now defined as post-truth, where politicians, leaders and media personalities play fast and loose with the truth, and where words and “meaning” itself is being questioned, where does truth actually lie? Does “truth” even exist? And if it does, how can it be found? And what does the Bible, which claims to be true, have to say about it? Ultimately, for a religion that professes to be based on “truth”, doesn’t that make Christinaity fundamentally arrogant and equally dangerous? If you have ever asked these questions then this is the chance for you to ask them!
